Terms and Conditions

By booking and attending sessions, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions governing the use of our services.

Disclaimer:

Please note that the services offered through Beyond The Obvious are focused on mental health counseling for children and adults, career counseling and hypnotherapy for issues such as anxiety, depression, relationships, trauma healing, grief and personal development.
We do not provide crisis intervention or support for individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts or severe mental health crises.
If you are in immediate danger or need urgent support, please contact your local emergency services, a suicide prevention helpline, or a licensed crisis counselor.
We are also not a substitute for medical or psychiatric advice, diagnosis or treatment.
If you are experiencing severe mental health concerns, please seek immediate assistance from a licensed mental health/medical professional.

Booking and Payments:

All sessions must be booked in advance, either through our website or via direct contact. Once booked, an appointment confirmation will be sent to you.
Payment is required prior to each session.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid incurring a charge. Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to the session will be charged in full.

Confidentiality:

We are committed to protecting your privacy. All information shared in sessions is strictly confidential and will not be disclosed without your permission. However, there are exceptions, including:

If there is a risk of harm to yourself or others.
If required by law or court order.
In cases involving child or elder abuse.
For supervision or consultation purposes (in which case, your identity remains protected).

Client Responsibilities:

You agree to provide accurate and complete information as requested during sessions and to attend sessions sober, prepared, and ready to engage in the therapeutic process.

Limitation of Liability:

While every effort is made to provide effective support, outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
The counselor is not responsible for any decisions or actions taken by clients based on session outcomes.
The counselor is not liable for any loss or damages resulting from interruptions or cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances.

Intellectual Property:

All content on our website, including text, images, and graphics, is our property and is protected by copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content for commercial purposes without prior written consent.
All materials shared during sessions (e.g., worksheets, exercises) are the intellectual property of the provider. These materials are for personal use only and may not be reproduced, shared, or distributed without prior written consent.

Eligibility:

Services are intended for individuals aged 18 years or older.
For clients under 18 years of age, parental or legal guardian consent is mandatory before services can be initiated.
The counselor reserves the right to request proof of identity and/or age if needed.

Session Details:

Each counseling session is 50 minutes long unless stated otherwise.
Sessions will be conducted online via Google Meet.
The client is responsible for ensuring a quiet, private, and distraction-free environment during sessions.

Termination of Services:

The provider reserves the right to terminate services if:

The client engages in abusive or unethical behavior.
The client repeatedly fails to attend scheduled sessions.
The client’s needs fall outside the counselor's scope of expertise.

Clients may terminate services at any time by providing written notice.

Technology Use:

For virtual sessions, clients are responsible for ensuring a stable internet connection, functioning audio/video equipment, and privacy during the session.
The provider is not liable for disruptions due to client-side technical issues.

Changes to Terms:

We reserve the right to update these Terms periodically. By continuing to use our services after changes have been made, you agree to the revised Terms. Please review these Terms regularly.
